The Giving Tree is a classic children’s book that was written by Shel Silverstein in 1964. For those of you who don’t know the story, here’s a link to one narration of it on youtube:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMlU7w…

Without spoiling it, I will say that the story is very sad and depressing, and features a tree who loves a boy very, very much – a boy who takes everything the tree gives him for granted.

I have hand-sculpted an apple out of clay and wire, and also a clay heart that has “Me + T” carved into it. Both of these things are featured in the story. For the stones, I used real Emerald gemstones, which are a stone of unconditional love. I thought that would be very fitting for the theme of The Giving Tree.

Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this! I really love how it turned out, and I may make this a made-to-order. Oh, and if you didn’t notice, I sort of “updated” this tree of life design so that it has more branches =]

Pendant measures approximately 3 inches tall (including the bail) and a little over two inches across at the widest area.

The Tree of Life symbolizes spiritual growth and wisdom, strength, protection, and connectedness. It is a healthy model that inspires the spirit and encourages hope in all hearts.

These are delicate, wire wrapped pendants that should be handled with care. Some of the stones, glass, or shells used to create the tree can break if handled roughly.

Stunning! I love the twist on the usual tree of life figure. I also like how the roots look methodically twisted and shaped in this tree of life unlike many others that are just wrapped together in a clump. :) Beautiful design and idea!
